jeep liberty recalls, 137,000 More Jeep Libertys for Suspension Fracture, Chrysler is recalling an additional 137,000 Jeep Liberty SUVs for a rear lower control arm that can rust and fracture, according to a filing from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

A potential fracture of the arm could cause a "decrease in rear suspension stability," which could cause a skid or crash. Jeep dealers will replace the control arms, whether rusted or not, on all affected vehicles starting in July. Customers can call Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 for more details.

In March, Chrysler recalled nearly 210,000 Liberty models from 2004 and 2005 but has since found that other Liberty models from 2006 and 2007 are also at risk. The total affected vehicle count, composed only of those sold or registered in "Salt Belt" states and Washington, D.C., comes to 346,900 units. Honda also recalled 1,300 CR-V models in March for a front lower control arm that could break at the welds.
