2012 July Product Recalls
Items ranging from peppermint ice cream to frozen meatballs to soy candles were yanked from store shelves this month. Keep reading to see what other products were recalled in July.

Food products

Arctic Zero recalled several flavors of its frozen desserts due to an undeclared allergen.

Additional recalls:
Half-gallon sizes of Cass-Clay Creamery Peppermint Bon Bon ice cream.
19 cases of bulk romaine lettuce due to possible contamination.
Nearly 200 dozen Classic Coconut Fruiti Pops.
Multiple lots of Andante Dairy cheeses due to pasteurization issues. Four varieties of Mexicali Cheese Corp. cheeses due to potential contamination.
Children’s gear

Nearly 500,000 Chicco Polly high chairs were recalled after several children were reportedly injured. What can happen?

More than 100,000 Flexible Flyer swing sets.
Approximately 300,000 Discovery Kids Animated Marine and Safari lamps due to potential fire hazard.
Children’s toys & clothing

Old Navy recalled nearly 40,000 of its Toddler Girl Aqua Socks sold from February to June 2012 after reports of falls. Was anyone injured?

Pharmaceutical products

Westone Laboratories recalled all sizes and configurations of its Oto-Ease ear lubricant due to possible contamination.

Nineteen lots of Hospira injections due to defective glass vials.
Six lots of iFlora kids supplement due to possible contamination.
Stryker Orthopaedics’ Rejuvenate and ABG II modular-neck hip stem implants.
Three lots of Bedford Laboratories’ Leucovorin Calcium injections.

Meat & seafood products

Morgan Foods, Inc., recalled approximately 94,850 pounds of corn chowder soup after customers claimed to have found foreign materials in the products.

Additional recalls:
Approximately 324,770 pounds of Buona Vita frozen meat and poultry products.

Electrical items

Family Dollar stores recalled almost 300,000 boxes of mini holiday lights because they do not meet this standard and may pose a fire hazard.

Additional recalls:
More than 200,000 Nikon digital SLR camera rechargeable battery packs.
Approximately 22,149 Bosch SkilSaw miter saws due to a laceration hazard.

Vehicles

Ford recalled more than 10,000 of its 2013 Escape SUVs after receiving complaints about floor carpeting. What could go wrong?

Nearly 300 model-year 2012 Porsche Cayennes and 2011-2012 Panameras.
Approximately 11,000 2012 Nissan Juke crossovers due to problems with the rear seats.
About 1,500 model year 2011-2013 Volvo S80 sedans.
Nearly 800 model year 2012 Ford F-650 and F-750 pickup trucks due to windshield issues.

Consumer products

iSi North America recalled about 162,700 of its Twist’n Sparkle Beverage Carbonation System plastic bottles after reports of explosions. Was anyone injured?
