The image was posted on the internet image board 4chan with the words, “This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King.”
Other 4chan users used the GPS data included in the picture to find where it was taken.
Local news media were immediately contacted and the suspect was discovered.
4chan users expressed their disgust on the site.
Enjoy getting fired.
Just got off the phone with the manager. He’s pissed.
LOL. OP is gonna be in trouble…Don’t f**k with people’s food.
Another internet site, Reddit, made a montage of the postings.
The suspect was a long-term employee at the Mayfield Heights branch of Burger King in Cleveland, according to the Huffington Post. The man who posted the picture, as well as the shift manager on duty at the time, will be fired.A Burger King employee and shift supervisor in Mayfield Heights, OH were both fired after a picture of the employee standing in two tubs of lettuce that were then served to guests on a message board. The picture (right) was captioned, “This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King,” on the message board. Luckily the hackers on the message board, who apparently are called anonymous, went to work and less than 15 minutes later tracked down the exact store the picture was taken at. The employee and shift supervisor have both been fired. With that being said I know this probably happens at all types of places, but I’m glad I don’t eat at fast food restaurants it seems like this stuff always happens at a Burger King or McDonalds. Wow, people trip me out.
