Alex Joey Flash Mob Proposal - A 25-year-old Pennsylvania man proposed to his girlfriend last weekend with the help of a dancing flash mob. Joey Lancianese told his girlfriend, Alex De Loia, that they were going to dinner, only to surprise her with the proposal. De Loia said yes.Over the weekend, one Pennsylvania man proved that no act of love is too extravagant for his beloved when he orchestrated an elaborate flash mob proposal that involved 300 dancers.
In a heartwarming YouTube video, Joey Lancianese boogies down to a medley that includes the requisite Bruno Mars' song "Marry You," before finally popping the question to his long-time girlfriend, Alex DeLoia.
Lancianese had to close down an entire street in Sewickley, Penn., to pull off the romantic stunt. According to KDKA, the young man spent two months planning the spectacle, telling DeLoia he was busy playing softball whenever he had dance rehearsals.
"I'm a big believer that I want to do this one time and with the right person," he told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review before the event. "I want to make it as epic as possible."
DeLoia fell for the elaborate ruse and said she was caught by surprise. She told KDKA she thought she was having dinner with Lancianese and a few friends when he suddenly broke into the dance routine.
The flash mob's performance took place on Saturday -- which was also National Dance Day -- and lasted for several minutes. For the finale, dancers, family members and friends formed a passageway for Lancianese to walk through toward his blushing bride-to-be.
"It's a little understated, I understand," he said laughing, as he got down on one knee. "No idea is too big for us. We can do anything together. You are my best friend in the whole world, being with you has seriously been the happiest time of my entire life," he continued.
Through tears and laughter, DeLoia accepted his proposal. "I'm completely speechless," she told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I guess I wouldn't have expected anything less. I mean, I knew it wasn't going to be a restaurant proposal."
