Paul mccartney bonnaroo weed

Paul mccartney bonnaroo weed, That's some pretty good weed I can smell up here," Paul McCartney said halfway through his packed headlining set at Bonnaroo on Friday night (June 14). "Whew! What are you doing to me?"

While the fans took hits, McCartney sang them throughout his nearly three-hour set that included three encores. The set kicked off with The Beatles' "Eight Days A Week," dipped into more obscure territory with the 1974 single "Junior's Farm" then went straight for a Beatles/Wings one-two punch of "All My Loving" and "Listen To What The Man Said." Two more hours of fan favorites ("Maybe I'm Amazed," "Eleanor Rigby," "We Can Work It Out"), tributes ("Foxy Lady" for Hendrix, "Here Today" for Lennon, "Something" for Harrison) and classics ("Let It Be," "Hey Jude" and, as an encore, "Yesterday") were among the highlights.

Anyone who's seen McCartney's current Out There tour, which just swung by Brooklyn's Barclays Arena, had a fairly good idea of the itinerary. The setlist and even between-song banter was largely identical to the ones Macca has currently been taking on the road.

Not that that made the performances and the stories any less special. The crowd loved McCartney's tales of meeting with the heads of the Russian government when he played the actual U.S.S.R. several years ago ("'Let It Be' was my first record,'" he recalled Russia's head of defense telling him, in an impeccable accent) and Hendrix asking if "Eric" was in the crowd at a 60s gig to help him tune his guitar (Clapton, of course.) They particularly loved the fireworks show that erupted during "Live And Let Die," an added bonus to the already intense pyro that takes place on-stage during the song.

Even the encores offered few surprises to those who have followed recent sets from Out There, or even Thursday night's 30-minute soundcheck that festivalgoers could hear just after sunset. Though McCartney's band rehearsed "Penny Lane" and "Magical Mystery Tour," both of which fans sang along with as they walked by the closed main stage area, neither was played during the headline set. Several other songs from the soundcheck did make the cut, however, including "Lady Madonna" and "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite," the latter a touring first for McCartney along with "Sgt. Pepper"'s "Lovely Rita."
